Burglary suspect arrested a second time

A burglary suspect in Banks and Jackson counties landed in jail for the second time in two weeks, according to details released Tuesday by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

A search warrant the week of February 13 on Sears Drive in Maysville led to the arrests of 27 year old Brandon Shawn Lawson and 45 year old Scottie Andrew Lawson.

The burglary they're charged with was in Banks County, but the arrests came in Jackson County at the suspects' home. Sheriff's offices in both counties worked the case.

Both men are charged in Banks County with burglary, theft by taking motor vehicle and theft by receiving. At the time, both men were taken to the Jackson County Jail, also on outstanding warrants in Hall County.

Jackson County authorities picked Brandon Lawson up again last Thursday in a Commerce pawn shop. The victims of the Banks County burglary and a Jackson County investigator, in the shop on a different matter, spotted him allegedly trying to sell a leaf blower, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

The latest arrest was for violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act, pills not in original container and suspended license. He remained in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday afternoon, also on a hold for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
