Johnson High graduate Lohan Pethel has been named the USA South athletic conference's baseball player of the week for his play with Piedmont College.
The sophomore second baseman went 10-for-17 (.588) with four runs scored, three RBI, one walk and one stolen base as the Lions posted a 3-1 record last week. In an 8-5 win over Washington and Lee, Pethel went 1-for-3 with one run scored and one walk. In a three-game series win over USA South foe Maryville, Pethel was a combined 9-for-14 (.643) with three runs scored, three RBI and one stolen base. In game-two of the series, Pethel was a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI and one stolen base.
