Lakeview Academy student organizes annual Zumba event for heart research

GAINESVILLE - More than 200 people attended the Annual Party Hearty ZUMBA event this past Saturday, a fundraiser for the American Heart Association, created by a Lakeview Academy senior.

The 2013 event was the third such fundraiser coordinated by Vidya Medepalli.

Representatives from the American Heart Association, the JA Walters Family
YMCA and Northeast Georgia Heart Center assisted. Medipalli said more than 15 ZUMBA Instructors from all over Georgia who took turns instructing at the event.

Medipalli said this year's event raised $1,200 for the Georgia Chapter of the American Heart Association, bringing the three year total to almost $4,000.
