STAR students/teachers announced

GAINESVILLE - As is tradition, the STAR student and teacher were revealed for the Hall County School System and Gainesville area schools Tuesday at the Gainesville Kiwanis Club lunch.

For city schools, it was a region tie this year, with Gainesville High School's William Franklin Morris and Lakeview Academy's Austin Bruce Montgomery named winners for posting the highest SAT scores. Their STAR teachers are Pamela Michelsen and Matthew Gruhn respectively.

In the Hall County School System, West Hall High School's Savannah Leigh Schneider claimed top honors. Her STAR teacher is Andrew McCain.




The Kiwanis Club also honored the following STAR students and teachers for each of the following schools:

Riverside Military Academy: Zhongkun Jin, student and Andrew Jobson, teacher

Chestatee High School: Ashley Danielle Brock, student and Nick Scheman, teacher

East Hall High School: Mallory P. Puckett, student and Craig Cantrell, teacher

Flowery Branch High School: Bailey Connor Perry, student and Terri Barker, teacher

Johnson High School: Katie Michelle Turner, student and Jean Prezel, teacher

North Hall High School: McKensey Clare Chapman, student and Brent Drury, teacher
