8-AAAAA tournament: Cantrell leads GHS into finals

BETHLEHEM -- Shaquan Cantrell poured in 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Gainesville to a 62-54 win over host Apalachee Friday night in the Region 8-AAAAA semifinals.

The win put the Red Elephants into Saturday's region finals against Salem. Tip-off is slated for 8:30 p.m. at Apalachee High School.

Luke Moore added 13 points for Gainesville, which has won 10 straight contests. Chase England had 10 points for the Red Elephants.

The two finalists have split contests this season, both winning at home. The difference in both games combined was a total of nine points.
