Teams resume search of lake for missing man

By Derreck Booth Anchor/reporter
CUMMING - Search teams were back in the Bald Ridge Creek area of Lake Lanier in Forsyth County Wednesday morning, looking for a missing fisherman.

DNR Sgt. Greg Colson said boats were out with side scan sonar.

"What they're doing is looking for anything, a target that may interest them that they want to send a diver down on.

The 47 year old Forsyth County man's empty boat was found Monday night. Family members have told law enforcement that the man was an experienced boater and fisherman.

Colson Tuesday said divers had some difficulty with water conditions, some of them rupturing eardrums.

"The area that we're searching right now is so large and the water is relatively deep in those areas," Colson said.

Authorities have not released the man's name.
