Boys basketball: Warriors takes third, Lumpkin shoots past Central-Carroll in Gold City Classic

DAHLONEGA -- White County finished third in the Gold City Classic after a 69-44 win over Wesleyan Monday.

Mt. Vernon Presbyterian defeated Sequoyah 69-62 to win the championship.

White County (9-2) was led by Spencer Adams and Jordan Egerton, who both poured in 12 points for the Warriors.

No Wesleyan player reached double figures.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday traveling to North Hall in a Region 7-AAA contest

Lumpkin County shot a blistering 74 percent from the field in a win over Central-Carroll Monday in the Gold City Classic.

Everyone on the roster scored for the Indians, paced by 16 points from Johnny Gilreath. Jack Howard added 11 for Lumpkin.

Elisha Ross led Central Carroll with 26 points.

Lumpkin's Gilreath and White County's Spencer Adams were named to the All-tournament team.
