No. 16 Georgia dominates Lipscomb

By The Associated Press
ATHENS -- Shacobia Barbee scored 16 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished four assists to lead No. 16 Georgia to a dominating 81-46 win over Lipscomb Tuesday night.

Georgia (11-0) closed the first half on a 16-2 run to open a 39-23 lead at the break. Barbee scored eight points during that stretch.

The Lady Bulldogs rolled their momentum right through halftime, extending the lead to 55-25 by the 13:18 mark. The lead got as high as 44 points as Lipscomb searched for any way to stop the Lady Bulldogs.

Merritt Hempe scored 15 points while Tiaria Griffin added 12 to go with her nine rebounds and four assists. Georgia outrebounded Lipscomb 54-31.

The Bisons (2-6) struggled mightily, shooting 26.3 percent from the field. Danay Fothergill lead the team with 15 points, but she shot 4 of 23 from the field, including 2 of 11 from long range.
