Man arrested in connection to statue theft

By Alyson Shields Reporter
GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man has been arrested in connection to a theft of over a dozen bronze statues from a local funeral home.

According to Hall County Sheriff's Sargeant Mark Mitchell, 48 year old Jeffery Shane Moore was apprehended this afternoon on Dawsonville Highway.

"Investigators recovered several of the statues during the arrest," said Mitchell. "The statues were originally reported stolen from the funeral home on November 6 and were valued at over $20,000."

Mitchell says additional charges are pending upon the completion of the investigation. Moore is held with a $5,000 bond at the Hall County Jail.
