Man, 47, shot to death in his home in Woodstock

By The Associated Press
WOODSTOCK, Ga. (AP) Law officers in a north Georgia town are investigating after a man was gunned down in his home.

Cherokee County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to an address on Misty Hollow Way in Woodstock Sunday evening. They found 47-year-old Christopher Pierce dead inside the home, where he lived alone. Pierce had been discovered by his father, who called 911.

Sheriff's officials say in a statement that investigators do not believe the crime is a random one. They think the suspect or suspects may have known Pierce.
