Sunday fire leaves Gainesville home total loss

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - Hall County firefighters battled a house fire early Sunday morning.

According to Hall County Fire Marshall Scott Cagle, fire crews arrived on the scene in the 5000 block of Gillespie Road off Price Road to find a 1,200 square foot residence 25% involved.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes.

Cagle said there were four occupants of the home at the time. One male occupant was assessed for smoke inhalation, but refused treatment and transport by medical crews.

Cagle said the fire appears to be accidental in nature, but remains under investigation. The home, he said, is estimated to be a total loss.
