Girls basketball: Lady Falcons soar past Apalachee

BETHLEHEM -- The Flowery Branch girls basketball team stormed to a 17-2 first quarter lead and cruised to a 56-28 defeat of Apalachee on Friday in Bethlehem.

Kylah Mize scored a game-high 16 points, including three 3-pointers, to pace the Lady Falcons (2-2, 2-1 Region 8-AAAAA), while Breanna Locke added 15 points and Heather Moore 14.

Flowery Branch travels to face Cedar Shoals on Tuesday.
