Girls basketball: Chestatee holds off River Ridge

GAINESVILLE -- Chestatee grabbed a quick first quarter lead and then held on for a skinny 48-47 win over River Ridge Friday night.

The Lady War Eagles (4-1) led 10-5 after the first quarter and took a 25-24 lead into halftime.

The two teams played to draw in the second half.

Kayla Watson paced Chestatee with 12 points. Bridgette Kelly and Deanna Bradberry had 10 points each for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee next will travel to East Hall on Saturday.
