Local Red Cross seeks donations of blankets, participates in holiday fundraising campaign

GAINESVILLE - The American Red Cross is seeking donations this holiday season through the 2013 Red Cross Holiday Campaign. <br /> <br /> Holiday shoppers can give by visiting www.redcross.org/gifts and browsing through the 2013 Holiday Giving Catalog to purchase a variety of symbolic gifts in the name of the people on their gift list. Their purchase can support the Red Cross mission in many different ways, such as helping a disaster victim, providing comfort kits for injured members of the Armed Forces or helping supply measles vaccinations around the world.<br /> <br /> In addition, the Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Chapter is seeking donations of new blankets as well as monetary donations to assist its local disaster clients.
