Fire does heavy damage to Nicholson home

By Derreck Booth Anchor/reporter
NICHOLSON - Jackson County emergency officials Wednesday said a morning house fire in Nicholson did heavy damage to the residence Tuesday.

Investigators believe the cause of the fire at 3866 Sanford Road was accidental, starting in the living room, according to emergency services director Steve Nichols.

Firefighters responded around 5:40 a.m. to find the house in flames. While the family was home at the time, Nichols said no one was hurt.

Emergency officials called American Red Cross to help the family.
