White County home destroyed by fire

CLEVELAND - A home west of Cleveland was destroyed by fire early Friday.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said a 9-1-1 call reporting the fire at 469 Silver Falls Road was received at 6:33 a.m.

A second caller reported the house was fully involved by fire, and the status of the occupants was unknown.

"The first unit arrived at 6:49 and reported the 1,400-square-foot structure was totally involved and the house had been evacuated," Murphy said.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the family with immediate needs.

As of Friday afternoon, units remained on scene, Murphy said. The fire is under investigation.
