Local authorities search for suspect in Taco Bell crime

GAINESVILLE - Law enforcement from both the Gainesville Police Department and the Hall County Sheriff's Office are on the lookout for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place outside a fast food restaurant on Browns Bridge Road early Thursday morning.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Chad Mann said the incident happened just after 1 a.m. when a gunman approached two people sitting in a vehicle in the Taco Bell parking lot.

"The suspect demanded money, keys and other valuables that they had while he held them at gunpoint," said Mann.

He said once the victims handed over their possessions, the suspect fled.

At this point, authorities have not released a suspect description. Mann said they are comparing witness descriptions with surveillance footage from the restaurant.

Mann said no one was hurt during the incident.
