Mt. Airy issues 48-hour boil water advisory

By Rob Moore Reporter
MT. AIRY - Due to a water main break, the Town of Mt. Airy has issued a boil water advisory for all customers of the town's water system.

The six-inch main break is located on Dicks Hill Parkway near Old Highway 197, and customers north of Seventh Street are affected, town officials said.

Any water from the town system used for human consumption needs to be brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of three minutes, said Town Clerk Sheri Berrong.

Berrong said those with questions can call Mt. Airy Town Hall at (706) 778-6990.
