Troopers release names in Spout Springs Road crash

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia State Patrol Thursday afternoon released the names of the parties involved in Wednesday afternoon's serious injury crash near Flowery Branch.

The wreck happened around 1:15 p.m. on Spout Springs Road just south of Ivey Springs Drive.

According to the patrol, an eastbound Mazda 6 went onto the south shoulder of Spout Springs Road. Troopers said the driver, Darkevion Dewayne Parrish, 21, of Memphis, Tennessee, over corrected and went into the westbound lane.

The Mazda 6 hit a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was traveling west on Spout Springs Road.

Parrish was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the pickup, Arthur William Ching, 58, of Flowery Branch, had minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, according to troopers.

Hall County Emergency officials Wednesday said a third person was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The state patrol did not list a third party or any charges on its release.
