Man flown to Atlanta for treatment following tree accident

LULA - A man suffered multiple injuries, including a possible head injury, when a tree fell on him in the Lula area Friday night.

According to Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle, the call came in around 6:00 p.m. to a location on Whitehall Road.

When rescuers arrived, Cagle said bystanders had already removed the tree. They told emergency officials the man had been cutting the tree down, when it fell on him, temporarily pinning him down.

Cagle said the victim was flown to an Atlanta hospital.

Cagle said Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations prevent the department from releasing the victim's name.
