Local drug agents arrest 14 in undercover operation

By B.J. Williams News Director
GAINESVILLE - Fourteen people have been arrested and drug agents are looking for another 13 in a drug round-up in the Gainesville area.

Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad Lt. Scott Ware said Thursday the arrests were made on Wednesday with the help of the Hall County Sheriff's Office and Gainesville Police Department.

"It's basically three to four months worth of work most of which was done with undercover officers," said Ware.

Ware said the investigation also included work from agents with the Barrow County Narcotics Task Force. He said the operation included a series of undercover drug buys, search warrants and drug searches.

"The majority of these individuals reside or have resided in Hall County," said Ware. He said many of those arrested are actively on probation or parole and that will mean additional charges for those suspects.

Ware said most of the charges involved possession and/or sale of cocaine, but agents did seize marijuana, methamphetamine and one semi-automatic pistol during the round-up.

As of Thursday afternoon, 13 suspects remained at large. MANS and HCSO Warrants Division officers are are still looking for them.

The following is a list of those arrested and the charges levied against them:
