Man shot at Gainesville's Ridgecrest Apartment complex

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting at Ridgecrest Apartments off Cleveland Highway.

In a statement, a police department spokesman said the male victim was shot in the abdomen. The victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and his condition is not known at this point.

The shooter fled the scene before police arrived, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m.
