Abandoned White County home destroyed by fire

By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio
CLEVELAND - A Sunday-night fire in White County destroyed an unoccupied, abandoned house.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said county firefighters were dispatched to the blaze on Barrett Mill Road off Duncan Bridge Road.

White County 9-1-1 dispatch received several calls because flames and the glow from the blaze could be seen for several miles.

White County stations 2 and 4, with mutual aid from Cleveland Fire Department, responded.

Murphy said the first arriving units reported the structure totally involved, noting firefighters operated in a defensive mode working to contain the fire to the immediate area of the structure.

According to Murphy, the cause of the fire has not been determined. No injuries were reported.
