Volleyball: Jefferson finishes third in 6-AA tourney

The Jefferson volleyball team played its way into third place in the Area 6-AA tournament on Tuesday.

The Lady Dragons (31-11) fell to Greater Atlanta Christian in the first round -- 25-21, 25-20 -- before bouncing back to beat Rabun County in the consolation round -- 25-21, 23-25, 25-9.

GAC will play Wesleyan for the 6-AA championship on Thursday in Norcross.

Jefferson will open play in the Class AA playoffs at Toombs County on Oct. 16.

Lady Dragons' standouts Grace Williamson, Abby Wood and Olivia Przybysz were each named to the All-Area team.
