Volleyball: Flowery Branch splits regular season finale

OAKWOOD -- The Flowery Branch volleyball team split its final regular season matches on Tuesday, edging Johnson in three sets and falling to Lanier.

The Lady Falcons pushed past Johnson 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, led by Chanelle Lear, with five aces and 12 assists. Madeline Turk and Katie Hall also had five kills apiece, while Bailey Smith had three kills, two aces and five digs.

Flowery Branch fell to Lanier 25-15, 25-20. Aaron McCloan had six kills in the loss, while Gabrielle Burk had 10 assists.

Flowery Branch begins play in the Area 8-AAAAA tournament on Thursday against Loganville at Gainesville.
