CRH medical team heading to Africa

By Staff
DAHLONEGA - A surgical team from Chestatee Regional Hospital asked for help for traveling expenses in order join a mission trip lead by Dr. Patrick Conarro and Kristina Tardonia, LPN from Summit Surgical.

After setting up a donation website, obtaining a nonprofit tax ID, and spreading the word through the community, it only took a few weeks to make their hopes a reality. The group was able to raise over $6,000 to reach their goals.

Chestatee Regional Hospital hosted a Spaghetti Dinner on August 29th, which raised over $1,000 alone.

"We wanted to offer the surgical team as much support as possible in preparation for the mission trip to Ghana. Supporting the legacy left by one of our former medical staff physicians (Dr. George Faile II) is an honor and an opportunity to enrich Chestatee's tradition of service and charity." says Jason Cox, CEO Chestatee Regional Hospital.

The group will travel to The Baptist Medical Centre in Ghana, Africa on October 13-20 and help care for patients at the hospital and aid in surgical operations.

Chestatee will be posting photos and updates to its Facebook page:
