Volleyball: Chestatee sweeps, Lakeview drops pair in tri-match

GAINESVILLE -- The Chestatee girls volleyball team swept a pair of matches Wednesday against Gainesville and Lakeview Academy in a tri-match at the Chestatee gym.

The Lady War Eagles beat Lakeview Academy 25-17, 25-16 and Gainesville 25-11, 27-25 behind Melanie Smith, who had 15 kills, two blocks and two aces for Chestatee.

Breezy Walker had 16 assists, eight digs and three kills for the Lady War Eagles and Haley King had 18 digs and six kills.

Sydney King led Gainesville, which knocked off Lakeview Academy 25-13, 19-25, 25-20, with 19 digs and 11 service points. Tanai Watson added 24 assists, 20 service points and four aces and Alyssa Turner had 20 service points, 11 kills and five aces for the Lady Elephants.

Katie White paced Lakeview with 12 kills, 27 digs, and three aces. Shelby Ross had eight kills, five aces, 13 digs, and one block. Delaney Jarrett had 16 assists and Samantha Versteeg had 31 digs for Lakeview.
