Boys basketball: Red hot Big Red rolls over Heritage, 81-53

GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville boys basketball team continued to storm down the stretch on Thursday, blowing past Heritage, Conyers, 81-53 in Gainesville.

The victory was the Red Elephants eighth in their last nine games.

Shaquan Cantrell dominated for Gainesville (12-9, 6-6 Region 8-AAAAA), putting up 20 points in the win, while Luke Moore added 12 points and Deshaun Watson 10.

Ryien Bonner had 11 points for Heritage.

Gainesville will take on local rival Flowery Branch in another region showdown at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.
