Gainesville: The Championship -- available to watch now

By Morgan Lee Sports Editor
The 2012 high school football season was special in numerous ways.

Three area teams claimed state championships, two for the first time -- one after years of knocking on the door.

For Gainesville football, seven was indeed a magic number, as the Red Elephants' seventh attempt at a GHSA crown finally yielded triumph, as Gainesville stomped Ware County 49-13 in the Class AAAAA finale at the Georgia Dome.

On the day when the Red Elephants were honor their historic achievement -- a parade and ceremony originally scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at Bobby Gruhn Field has been postponed due to inclement weather -- we at Access North Georgia.com would like to take a few minutes to salute their accomplishments with Gainesville: The Championship.

To watch this special video produced by Scott McIntyre and Access North Georgia sports editor Morgan Lee -- which chronicles the 2012 season and includes player and coach interviews, as well as highlights from throughout the campaign -- simply scroll down and click "play."
