Girls basketball: Lady Spartans hold off Johnson

OAKWOOD -- Maia Booker and Kaelyn Gattis each scored 16 points to lead the West Hall girls to a 50-31 win over Johnson Saturday night in girls basketball action.

The Lady Spartans (8-11) led just 16-14 after the first quarter but used a 16-9 second quarter to take a 32-23 lead into halftime.

The West Hall defense put the game away holding the Lady Knights to just eight points in the second half.

Ariel Collins led Johnson with 11 points.
