Couch names assistant jail commander

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - For only the second time in department history, a woman has a staff command position at the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch on Friday named 1st Lt. Cindy Mustachio as the assistant commander at the Hall County Jail, saying that Mustachio had the experience and leadership qualities needed at the jail.

"Her past performance and her dedication to the department, her dedication to the service, the duty, all that came into play," said Couch.

Mustachio has been with the Hall County Sheriff's Office since 2001, initially serving in the Court Services Division before transferring to the Jail Division, where she has most recently served a shift commander.

In addition, Mustachio served with the both the Woodstock and Suwanee Police Departments, as well as the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office prior to joining the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Mustachio holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from North Georgia College and State University.
