GAINESVILLE - Saying they want to make sure the case stays fresh on the minds of the public, state and local investigators have renewed a request for information in last summer's murder of a Gainesville High School student.
Hannah Truelove, who was 16 at the time of her death on August 24, 2012, was found stabbed multiple times behind Lake Lanier Club Apartments on Dawsonville Highway. The teen lived at the apartment complex with her mother, according to authorities.
Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said investigators are hoping that someone can help them find the occupants of a vehicle that might have been in the area the night of the girl's murder.
"Investigators are specifically looking for a late 1990's to early 2000's four‐door passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet or Dodge product," said Wilbanks. "The car is light silver in color, with substantial front end damage and a driver's door that is ither white or a lighter shade of silver."
Wilbanks said it is possible the vehicle could have been altered in the five months since the murder occurred. Still, he said anyone who might have seen the vehicle could have valuable information to share in the case.
Wilbanks said anyone with any information about the case or information regarding the vehicle can call the Hall County CID tip line at 770‐503‐3232 or the GBI tip line at 800‐597‐8477.
