FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch Mayor Mike Miller says he'll run for re-election later this year.
Miller, a Republican, originally took office in 2010, filling the unexpired term of Diane Herling, who moved to Florida.
Miller told WDUN he has some projects he'd like to see to completion before he leaves office.
"We've started the demolition process of the Mooney Building down there and that's the start of the revitalization of downtown [Flowery Branch]," said Miller. "I'm hoping to see that through to the end."
The Flowery Branch City Council okayed an election schedule at their most recent meeting, setting a qualifying period for August 26 - 28. The election takes place on November 5.
