Man allegedly hit wife with hammer

CLEVELAND - A White County man faces an aggravated assault charge after allegedly hitting his wife on the head with a hammer.

Sheriff's Captain Tim Chapman said it happened on Skitts Mountain Road early Monday morning.

The victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. There was no word on the extent of her injuries Wednesday evening.

60 year old Hoyt Sosebee of Cleveland faces the assault charge.
