By staff
It was a good day Saturday for a couple of the IronDawg powerlifters at the United States Powerlifting Association Dirty South Powerlifting Championship Meet in Lithia Springs.

IronDawgs head coach and trainer Mike Kidd noted that Kevin Eubanks of Bogart, lifting in the equipped (single-ply) Master's Men' s 40-44 year-old 198-pound division took first place in class, and had a national record deadlift of 556 pounds along the way. Eubanks also had a squat of 523 and a bench-press of 331 pounds for a total of 640 kilograms or around 1,410 pounds.

Dwon Johnson of Gainesville, an East Hall alumnus, took first in the raw sub-master 308-plus pound class with a national record squat of 763 pounds; as well as a bench of 402 and a dead lift of 604; a total of 803.5 kilograms (roughly 1,769 pounds).

More of the IronDawg lifters will be at the Gorilla Powerlifting Meet in Macon this coming Saturday.
