Boys basketball: Gainesville stumbles against Christ School

GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville boys basketball team endured an 82-74 defeat to the nationally-renowned Christ School from Arden, N.C., on Saturday in Gainesville.

Shaquan Cantrell scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds to pace the Red Elephants (8-9). Chase England also added 14 points and six rebounds, while Jikeese Ruff added 10 points.

Jon Elmore scored a game-high 28 points for Christ School, while University of Alabama commit Shannon Hale also added 20 points.

Gainesville plays again at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Winder-Barrow.
