Familiar voice named new Hall Co. Public Information Officer

GAINESVILLE - A voice that has become familiar to thousands across northeast Georgia over the past five years as a source of information, clarity and trust will soon be moving into a new job.

WDUN anchor and assistant news director Katie Highsmith Crumley has accepted the position of Public Information Officer for Hall County, replacing Nikki Young who recently took a similar position with the City of Lilburn.

The announcement was made at Thursday evening's Hall County Commission meeting.

Ms. Crumley is a 2003 graduate of Gainesville High School, also earning a journalism degree at the University of Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Bucky and Lee Highsmith and recent bride of Nathan Crumley, all of Gainesville.

Crumley begins her new role as spokesperson for Hall County on October 8th.
