GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Police are investigating a stabbing and reported shooting off Thomspon Bridge Road Wednesday night.

Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said officers responded to the 900 block of Lanier Avenue around 9 p.m. in regards to a stabbing that had just occurred.

"While en route to that call, officers were notified of a shooting from 9-1-1 callers from that same location," Holbrook said. "In that incident, there were no injuries reported."

Holbrook said once on scene, officers found a male patient with non-life threatening stab wounds to his chest and shoulder area. He said that patient has since been treated and released from Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Holbrook said the case is not believed to be a random crime or act of violence.

He said no arrests have been made at this time.
