Lady Spartans finish second in silver bracket at Battle at the Branch

FLOWERY BRANCH -- West Hall took second in the silver bracket with four wins at the Battle at the Branch girls volleyball tournament Saturday.

The Lady Spartans (19-12) opened with a 25-22, 25-16 win over Lakeview Academy and knocked off Salem (25-9, 25-13), Loganville (25-23, 25-12) and Tucker (25-20, 25-14) in straight set wins. They fell to Oconee County (25-9, 25-16) and Habersham Central (33-31, 25-23).

LeNiesha Kearse added 40 digs, 45 kills and 11 blocks to lead the Lady Spartans. Laykin Herford added 100 assists and 12 aces, and Kelsi Jones had 50 kills and three blocks for West Hall.

Carrie Ruiz had five aces, 13 kills and 23 digs for West Hall.
