Funeral services Wed. for Buford athlete

BUFORD - Funeral services will be held Wednesday at First Baptist Church Buford for a Buford High School varsity athlete who died over the weekend after he collapsed during practice last week.

Adam Smith, who was 16, was a junior at the high school and played basketball. He was taking part in a pre-season workout when he collapsed Thursday. He died Sunday night at Northside Hospital-Forsyth.

Authorities have not released a specific cause of death for the teen.
