By staff
JEFFERSON -- Local Division drivers gave race fans a show at Gresham Motorsports Park on Saturday night at the JEGS 100.

Aaron Calvert found his way to Victory Lane once again at GMP, as he pushed past Anthony Burgess early in the race. Calvert kept a strong lead out front for the remainder of the race. Scotty Beck, Trace Embry, Spanky Hicks and Allen Cantrell rounded out the top five.

Nathaniel "Boo" Carlisle brought out the first two cautions in the Sportsman/Renegade when his car spun out both times.

Jackie Daniel had a strong lead in front of Jeff Chadwick and the other Sportsman drivers until the restart of the first caution, when Chadwick jumped to the front.

Daniel led off of the second restart, but ended his night early when he spun out in turn two, leaving Chadwick to take the checkered flag. Daniel was able to finish second with Michael Mobley and Matthew Widener in third and fourth.

Mike Childers also drove to Victory Lane to receive the Renegade division win. Greg Jarrett and Ron Hubbard made up the top three in the Renegade division.

In the Truck division event, Curt Britt jumped to the front from third place within the first ten laps.

Ronnie Wehunt and Emilee Riley would bring out the first caution of the race. Britt jumped to the front again off of the restart.

Britt remained in the lead after another caution and was able to drive into Victory Lane. Matt Vassar, DJ Vanderlay, Aaron Calvert and Wehunt finished the top five.

The Outlaw Late Model race was nothing short of exciting, as Matthew Wragg pushed to the front of the field at the start of the race. Vanderford threatened Wragg from second place and Bates tried to catch the leaders from third.

After Wragg went into the garage for adjustments, on a caution, Vanderford moved into the lead and took a strong lead out in front of the field. Bates was unable to close on the lead and Vanderford landed in Victory Lane, leaving Bates and Lee Langford to finish second and third.

Unofficial race results have been posted on GMP's website.

The next race event at GMP will be the JEGS 50 on Oct. 13. For more information and a detailed schedule, please visit www.RaceGMP.com.
