Volleyball: Lady Vikings split at Darlington Invitational

DARLINGTON -- East Hall split four matches Saturday at the Darlington Invitational.

The Class AAA seventh-ranked Lady Vikings (18-9) opened the tournament with a three-set win over Dalton 26-24, 17-25, 15-10 and then beat Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe 25-16, 25-20.

East Hall then fell to Harris County 25-17, 25-18 and host Dalton 25-22, 25-23 in a close match.

For day, Brittney Campbell had 15 digs, six kills and 67 assists. Emily Hoggard had 15 kills and 27 digs, Kara Hix had six kills and 75 digs, and Tarryn Long 38 kills, three assists, and 33 digs for East Hall.

TT Shelton had five kills, four assists and 17 digs, Emily Roberts had four digs and 10 kills, and Allyson Segars had five kills and two digs for the Lady Vikings.

East Hall will resume Area 5-AAA play on Tuesday traveling to Blessed Trinity to take on the Lady Titans and Dacatur.
