Forsyth planners to consider proposals for 334 new homes

CUMMING - As the housing industry continues to try to recover from the recession, there are more "signs of life" in Forsyth County.

When the county planning commission meets later this month, it will be asked to consider three proposals for a total of 334 new homes, all of them on Old Atlanta Road.

The largest of the developments would be located on 141.7 acres on the east side of Old Atlanta Road and on the north and south side of Chattahoochee Pointe Drive, according to the agenda for the meeting. It would contain 234 homes. The Ryland Group, Inc., is asking that the property be rezoned.

Transmitter Road, LLC, wants to put 46 houses on 16.45 acres on the west side of Old Atlanta Road near the Vista Brook Drive intersection and is asking that that tract be rezoned.

In addition, FC Properties, LLC, is requesting a rezoning of 47.22 acres for 54 residential lots on Old Atlanta Road and also near Vista Brook Drive.

The planning commission is scheduled to consider the requests September 25.
