Grieving father says murdered daughter was a good girl

PENDERGRASS - The father of a murdered Gainesville High School student said he can't make sense of why someone would take the life of his daughter.

16 year old Hannah Truelove's body was found behind the Lake Lanier Club Apartments in Hall County last month.

Jeff Truelove of Pendergrass spoke with Channel 2 News and said his daughter was a good girl.

"16 years old and never did drugs or alcohol. She was a good girl," Truelove said.

Hannah's father told the TV station that Hannah had lived with him until she moved in with her mother in Hall County, about a month before her death.

"I can't understand it. Who could do something like that to someone, so brutal," Truelove said.

Investigators from the Hall County Sheriff's Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation continue to work the case.

On Friday, Hall County authorities said they were looking for a late 1990's to early 2000's four-door passenger car that may have been in the area of Lake Lanier Club Apartments the evening of August 23.

Truelove was last seen that day; her body was found the following night on the apartment property near the shoreline of Lake Lanier.

Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said the car is light silver in color, with substantial front end damage and a driver's door that is either white or a lighter shade of silver. He said the vehicle might be either a Chevrolet or a Dodge product.

Wilbanks said investigators believe the occupants of the vehicle may have important information that will aid the investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this vehicle or with further information about the case is asked to call the Hall County CID tip line at 770-503-3232, or the GBI tip line at 800-597-8477.
