For much of the past 10 years they have been arguably the top two programs in northeast Georgia.

Buford and Gainesville have been synonymous with success on the field, and tonight the two power programs will pit themselves against each other for the fifth time in history.

During that time it's been pretty much one-way traffic, as the Wolves (who have seven state titles over the past 11 seasons) lead the series 4-0. But tonight's game features plenty of intrigue, and both teams enter with plenty to prove.

The Red Elephants (0-1) are looking to bounce back from a season-opening loss to West Forsyth, while the Wolves (1-0) -- who feature 19 new starters from last year's Class AA runner-up -- are hoping to consolidate their position after a hardfought win over Elbert County in Week 1.
