Volleyball: No. 7 East Hall sweeps 5-AAA opener

RABBITTOWN -- Class AAA No. 7 East Hall opened its Region 5-AAA schedule with a pair of wins Tuesday night at home.

The Lady Vikings (11-4, 2-0 in region) began with a 25-19, 25-16 win over cross-town rival North Hall and the whipped Cross Keys 25-1, 25-13 in the second match.

The win over North Hall was the first-ever for East Hall in volleyball.

Brittney Campbell paced the Lady Vikings with a huge night. Campbell had 23 points on serve with 13 aces including a 21-point service run in the first game against Cross Keys. Campbell also had six digs and 30 assists.

Emily Hoggard had seven points on serve with one ace, seven kills and two digs. Kara Hix scored 10 points on serve with five aces, one assist, four kills and 30 digs for East Hall.

TT Shelton had six kills and nine digs, Tarryn Long had two aces, 11 kills and two digs, and Emily Roberts had nine points on serve with a five-point service run against North Hall with three aces and four kills for the Lady Vikings.

Allison Segars had two kills and three digs and Savannah Lindsey scored four points on serve with four digs.

east Hall next will travel to Winder Barrow on Thursday night to take on the Lady Bulldoggs and Flowery Branch in a tri-match.
