"The Foreigner" is an award winning comedy by American playwright Larry Shue. Set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, the plot revolves around two of its guests, Englishman Charlie Baker and Staff Sargent Froggy LeSueur. After pleadings from his sick wife, Charlie agreed to accompany Froggy on the trip. Charlie is so pathologically shy he is unable to speak. By way of explanation, Froggy explains his companion is the native of an exotic country who does not understand a word of English. Before long Charlie finds himself privy to assorted secrets and scandals freely discussed in front of him by the other guests.
