CUMMING - Forsyth County investigators continue to seek leads on an unusual theft. Someone stole a 400 pound, six foot tall statue of an Eagle from the Bethelview Road trail.
County spokeswoman Jodi Gardner told CBS Atlanta that the statue was welded in place, and must have been sawed away.
"Nothing like this has ever occurred at a Forsyth County parks or recreational area to my knowledge," Gardner told the tv station.
Authorities are looking for anyone who may know anything about the incident to come forward.
The sculpture was located at the Bethelview Road trail head of the Big Creek Greenway multi-use trail, and officials believe the sculpture was taken last Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.
