Ga. poultry lab to relocate to new park off Hwy. 365

By Katie Crumley
GAINESVILLE - The State Properties Commission has agreed to buy approximately 10 acres in north Hall County to construct the new Georgia Poultry Laboratory Network building.

According to a memo from the commission, the $13.6 million building will be constructed inside the future Gateway Industrial Centre off Highway 365 near White Sulphur Springs Road.

Hall County Commissioners agreed Thursday night to provide water, sewer and road paving for the new park where the poultry lab will be built.

Construction on the 38,000-square-foot laboratory is expected to be completed by 2015, according to the memo.

Officials with the Georgia Department of Agriculture said the new building will be closer to the poultry industry than its current location in Oakwood.
