Agents in Barrow arrest 7 in two drug busts

WINDER - Authorities in Barrow County Monday morning announced the arrest of seven people in two drug raids conducted last week.

The latest bust happened Friday at 755 Ridgeside Road in Bethlehem, where agents with the sheriff's office crime task force arrested five people. According to authorities, deputies found methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia throughout the house.

Henry Dewayne Aikens, Timothy Lee Mize, and Sandra Hope Hinkson were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Cody Alan Conn and Courtney Renee Patterson were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

On Wednesday, investigators made two arrests at 166 North Fifth Avenue, Apt. C, in Winder. Agents seized a quarter pound of methamphetamine, worth an estimated $5000 on the street, and over $26,000 in cash.

Both residents, Don J. Newton and Laurie Bales, were arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

Both cases are the culmination of a months-long investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
